After a year-long exposure to the pandemic, now there is an element of positivity around as the vaccines are finally here.

Nations are experimenting with the vaccines developed by various Pharma companies. The risk from the pandemic cannot be completely ruled out still.

To remain protected from a similar pandemic in the future (let it not happen again-fingers crossed) the practice of socially distancing, bio bubbles, and isolations are to be not forgotten.

Let’s look at how the bio-bubbles helped the sports and event sector to survive the pandemic.

Bio secure environments offer the only chance to resume international competitions during a pandemic of this scale.

What’s life in a bio-bubble?

Same people, same place, same room. That’s life in a bio-bubble. The absence of socializing could have an impact on the mental health and performance of the players.

But considering the effect of the Pandemic, it is the only way to revive international sporting events and other entertainment sectors like movies, concerts, exhibitions, etc.

Games Conducted in Bio Secure Environment

The international cricket resumed after a short break in the United Kingdom in two Bio bubbles at Southampton and Manchester

Similarly, the isolation zone at Walt Disney World in Florida helped the US National Basketball Association to conduct the games for this season.

The future of sporting events, cinema, entertainment, concerts will be by creating bio-bubbles. Even the restaurants would be following the bio-bubble concept by isolating the guest who enter at a given time.

Bio bubble enables not to hinder the experience of the viewers and at the same time ensure a comfortable time during the shows or a dining.

Also, all major business centers, colleges, public libraries, etc., must follow the concept of bio bubble by effectively isolating the visitors to reduce the risk of the pandemic to spread to an uncontrollable stage in the future.

How can events be conducted in a bio-bubble?

To ensure the safety of all guests and visitors in any public functions, more bio bubbles have to be created.

The guest’s travel history, body vitals, other details must be recorded before entering the premises. This must be done in a way that is no intrusive for the visitor.

Technology like thermal imaging, contactless payments, sanitization wall, etc., would help the premises to be virus-free to a great extent.

Furthermore, disposable plates & glasses, UV cleaned surfaces, sterilizations, will help in keeping the place free of contamination.

How to manage an unexpected crowd to an event?

Temperature checks must be mandatory at all entry points to a destination. Also, placing the sanitizers nears the lifts, corridors, doors, etc., needs to be a norm.

Limiting the guests to a facility such as swimming pools, cafes, restaurants must be practiced.

Also, using QR code scanners instead of having a physical menu, ordering through a kiosk, having drive-through facilities, etc., are intelligent ways to limit a crowd to a particular place.

Virtual events are another popular trend now, large live concerts and shows are no more a reality due to the pandemic, hence virtual concerts are gaining popularity.

The participants can watch the live concert by being in the comfort of their homes by logging into a live link.

Getting back to new normal

So, the world has welcomed a new year with lots of hope and expectation. Even with the vaccines around and recovery rates going up, the hidden risks of contracting the virus remains. There are a growing number of active cases globally.

The practice of washing hands consistently, sanitizing your gadgets and home, car, lift doors, and switches must be continued to remain protected to a great extent.

Limiting public gatherings and regulating the crowd on busy streets, events, places must be a mandatory norm to stay safe.

Let’s fight this Pandemic together and make the world a better place to live.
